I have to admit I'm new to using a straight razor so I'm no expert. That being said, it's clear that this razor is of very good quality. Blades are easy to install and change. I've read other comments about close shaving with straight razors versus other straight razors, but I didn't "realize" it until I shaved with this one and realized I had more control. I can understand how a person with a beard or goatee can create a smoother edge than with an electric or disposable razor. It's comfortable to hold and tilt, and I love the marbled effect. I've only made a few cuts on myself and this is my novelty, not a razor. I've watched a few how-to videos and if you're new to this I suggest you do the same. This is an interesting experience for me. It's like going back in time.
