Please note this is a DVD player, not a Blu-ray player. If you understand that and don't expect it to be played in 1080p, then you will love this DVD player as much as we do. It's small, compact and lightweight. Yes I could let one of my kids use my laptop but it weighs a lot more and I wouldn't risk it if one of my kids escapes after spilling something on it. The picture quality on this one is good and the screen can be viewed from different angles, and the picture remains very good. So it's not a cheap screen. It's perfect for road trips and keeps the kids from asking are we there yet? The only downside to this is that the glossy black will pick up fingerprints. So you might want to consider a different color, but we like black. And fingerprints can be easily wiped away with a damp cloth. We definitely recommend this DVD player.
