Requires installation of drivers not included with device. On my MS Windows machine, the drivers were found on the web and downloaded and then installed automatically, but it took quite a long time. After installing the driver, the device turns your GPIB device into a serial port - COM4 on my computer. You can then send SCPI commands to the device and get responses to queries or query commands. Works great for plain ASCII text strings. But I couldn't do that when reading a byte array with read_raw() - the response aborts prematurely. So when you want to read waveform data from an oscilloscope/VNA/spec analyzer etc. it can be frustrating. We recommend using the NI GPIB-USB-HS or Agilent 82357B GPIB-USB GPIB-USB adapters.
