This fan is great, but it doesn't cool a large room like an air conditioner. It really brings relief by lowering the temperature when you're around. This was a lifesaver for my ailing mini horse with an overactive thyroid. In the summer it gets very hot and dreary. For the rest of the stall I use an industrial fan but for him personally I use this cooler in his stall. This gives him some relief and I charge him around the house at night and take him to the barn in the morning. I run it on low all day and was surprised that it's really strong. I tie him to a ledge and on very hot days he stands upright in the cool mist. I can tell the difference in temperature in his stable compared to the rest of the stable. Not a big difference, but I notice the difference. I think it would be nice for a dorm or similar space. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends.
