This is my third Bluetooth/DAC combo receiver. Before purchasing, I checked the updated 2019 Audioengine B1. I chose this model because it specifically claims to support AAC, which is perfect for Apple iPhone/iPad music. It took 5 minutes to connect and pair. Very easy. I would describe my system as audiophile. It features a custom tube preamp connected to a Mark Levinson (92lb Monster) power amp that outputs the audio to a pair of Magnepan speakers. Sound: I've always known that a direct connection (wired or optical) is better than a Bluetooth connection. But I like to stream from my iPhone, so I compromised the Bluetooth connection. NOW it sounds like it's directly related. Sounds amazing - on par with my directly connected MacBook Pro. I would even go so far as to sound even better. Really impressed and surprised. FYI - I wanted to give a 4 star rating as it doesn't come with a 5V power adapter (i.e. phone charger wall wart). But I don't pay attention to it because of the sound quality. Solid 5 stars!
