A good quality biodegradable/compostable bag for me to fill the compost bin in the kitchen with...

In this condition, composting is on the books, in the law books. We cannot throw food waste, except bones, in the regular trash, we have to put it on our own compost heap. If not, we have to take our waste to the transfer station. These 2.6 gallon bags are biodegradable/compostable and perfect for my needs. They are made from high-quality PSM (cornstarch) and are fully compostable in 180 days, not years. I usually get green bags so the people who handle this waste know it's biodegradable. I'm sure you're familiar with a variety of bags. The "look" is unique. They will accept them in their food containers but ban plastic. When used, it's like defeating a person who has to pull them out of the trash can. They're not labeled like some bags, but I think they'll be fine. I chose to use these in my kitchen compost bin and they are a great size. These 2.6 gallon bags are likely less than 1 mil thick and are easily punctured. I usually line trash cans with a double layer to make sure they don't leak. I still have plastic on hand, but I prefer to use it because I know it goes to a large composting block. They're not cheap, but the cost of using plastic that pollutes landfill is high. They're thinner than some, but still decent.
