Review on J 2000 Jiffy Garment Steamer Plastic by Minas Chase

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's been 11 years - this is how I keep working

Here's what I had to do to keep my Jiffy Garment Steam running for 11 years: After about 7 years it got black mold and stopped producing steam. It took a lot of rinsing and soaking with the recommended cleaner to get it clean. Unfortunately, once those mold spores have taken root, they come back. The second clog was more difficult to remove and required multiple uses of the cleaner. From this I learned that removing the water tank from the steamer between sessions is not enough. The water channel inside the block must also be drained. You can remove the post to flip the unit and dump, but I find that inconvenient. I now evacuate the base using a clean turkey attachment purchased for this purpose and drain the excess water from the base back into a container of distilled water before wiping the base down with a paper towel. So far, so good. i love my boat Haven't used an iron in 11 years.
