Great pedals. I recommend looking for Shimano SPD SM-SH56 multi-exit cleats.
Pedals also included standard single exit cleats which I wasn't aware of. Most of the spikes you see are the only way out. But if you're worried about being able to quickly detach the pedals to avoid a fall, I'd suggest you look at the alternative Shimano SPD SM-SH56 or compatible multi-socket clones.
