Installed in an insulated brass tee for the hot outlet on my new heat pump water heater. The temperature reading will be wrong if there is no hot water, but it only takes a few seconds to register the temperature of the water in the tank when the water is flowing. On the hill above us I run a 5 well system with a large storage tank. This allows me to control the pressure throughout the system from my garage. Let me already capture the problem when a power failure tripped the pump switch. The storage tank was only 1/2 empty but I could see the pressure drop, examine the breaker and reset it.
