Update: This horrible plastic lock has completely fallen apart (1 1/2 years). It's made out of such cheap plastic that the tabs broke. This company wants to make a quick buck, the quality control is terrible. The product is not working properly. Quality control issues and design flaws make this lock an easy choice for anyone looking to "steal" your back door. The installation is quite easy. However, the product in the locked position is inferior resin/plastic. So when I open the tailgate latch, the plastic lifts up making it completely unusable. Right now it's all about stopping people from looking cool. Yes, I installed it correctly and the screws are tight! I can't get it back, so just a decoration in my truck that looks like it's struggling to stop would be tailgate theft. that it prevents people from taking your back door.
