As far as I can tell, these cordless shears have enough power. At the time of writing, we've only had them for about a week. When they arrived in the box I forgot to read the instructions first. I assumed that I could handle a simple cordless shears. I pulled the trigger and nothing happened. Back then I was in a hurry to do something and suspected something was wrong with them, so I put them aside to charge. There is an indicator next to the charging cable connector to show when they are charging. The light will turn off after fully charged. I tried them again. Nothing yet. Then I read the instructions. There is a small obscure safety switch on the top of the case that you have to press in order for them to work. It's a nice safety feature so you can't easily cut yourself without thinking first. The only thing I didn't like about the safety switch is the very short amount of time before you have to press it again after a cut. The safety switch remains on for approximately 3 seconds between cuts. If you don't pull the trigger again during this time. Time is running out and you have to activate it again before they start cutting. It's an annoying security feature, but manageable. I understand why, but I want the timer to stay on for a few more seconds. The illuminated safety switch location is easy to reach just before pulling the trigger, so I find it a simple annoyance that I can live with. In general while I like them.
