About a year ago my daughter got one of these lip balm holders from her friend. She clipped it to her keychain/strap from the moment she got it and it kept the lip balm securely in place the entire time. She liked it so much that I decided to get her this set for Christmas so she could choose from a variety of colors. The lip balm holders in this set are slightly different from the original holder that her friend gave her. Her original holder was open at both ends, allowing her to use a standard-sized lip balm or a larger or longer lip gloss. The brackets in this multipack are sewn on at the bottom. I think this will help keep the lip balm from slipping out of the bottom of the holder (however, my daughter didn't have this problem with her open-ended holder). Aside from the difference between the open and closed end, the quality and feel of the holders in this multipack are similar to the quality and feel of the holder my daughter used last year. It's easy to fit a standard size lip balm into the holder. Once the lip balm is in place, the holder will hold it securely in place. The clip is plastic but feels solid.
