Review on ๐Ÿ”ญ Nikon Trailblazer 8x25 ATB: Powerful Waterproof Binoculars in Sleek Black Design by Jay Mitchell

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Damn good binoculars

I got these binoculars to replace my Nikon Travelites which were my everyday binoculars that I took with me. I've taken them on every bike, hike, kayak trip. They are so light and intelligent. I wear a harness instead of a belt so they never get in the way or cause neck stiffness. When the time came for new ones, I decided to take the same 8x25. Then I saw these pioneers. Same weight, waterproof. I decided to try them. I've used them this week and they're basically as good as the Travelites but different. The "compact" design means they can be folded away while the Travelites are always ready for use, right out of their pocket. You know, it's so often necessary to see something quickly (a bird!). The Trailblazer needs to be folded to fit in the suitcase. Too bad. But it's acceptable if you have eyepiece caps to keep dirt and dust out. You can leave your suitcase at home and still be protected. Well, they come with caps, but they're very loose - so you're going to lose them pretty quickly. Other Nikons have eyepiece caps that connect together, and that connection provides pressure to keep them on the lenses, PLUS you can clip them to a belt so they're always on hand. With Trailblazers, this is a major omission for which I gave 4 stars. These connected eyepiece caps are not easy to find in the right size. (Same eyepiece cap issue as Travelites, so they ended up having to be replaced)
