Review on MINIX Octa Core Directly Technology Limited by Michael Tucker

I have been using (2) android boxes for 2 years. Both are different brands. They were ok but not on the same level as this device. The device is as good as ready for use apart from a few small necessary adjustments. Kodi 17.0 is installed but there is no build. You need a build to watch/play movies/shows in Kodi itself. Kodi is a launcher and nothing else. Easy to fix. Go to Google Play and download Complete Kodi Setup Wizard. It's easy enough to figure out the rest from there. Once I had that setup I updated Kodi to the latest version 17.3 and updated the minix box with two updates. Works very smoothly. There's no buffering for everything I've watched yet. I have a Samsung 4K TV. Viewing standard definition 480 is not bad, very good to see. It's better than other machines I have. 720 HD is what you think it should be. 1080p and 4k is where it shines. The picture is crystal clear. I am VERY happy with the view. 4k is as good as my 4k Blu-ray player. And for those looking for an updated remote control, try the air mouse with a keyboard on the back. You can get one for around $15. Works perfectly! Now with that said, I have a few thoughts on improvements and updates. I really like the onscreen clock and weather station. The weather should be synchronized with my local information from the Internet. It is not. I've tried everything from the settings in the box itself to messing around with my router. I get information about other places. I would love to see where we can just put in our zip code like any other weather app for our local weather. The box is warm but not hot. I'd like to see some sort of feet on the box to allow air to pass underneath, and maybe a vent. Update the firmware to 7.0. The box comes with HDR option. Possibly enable additional forms of HDR settings: hdr10, hdr10+ and Dolby Vision. More audio settings for your stereo receiver would be nice too, not just Dolby Digital. This is a great box with fantastic picture quality. The purchase is worthwhile.
