I just wanted a light weight, inexpensive card box to hold my recipes and this box is working out great. Upon arrival the box was packaged in the open position and the plastic hinge was a bit stiff from the cold weather. So, I used a small heat gun to gently warm up the hinge area and this allowed for a more flexible working hinge. As for the box size - it would easy hold 400+ cards and room to allow for cards with index tabs. The box is sturdy and the top lid will open with gentle prying up with a thumb. Now I have a nice box to house and organize my few and delicious recipes. Really glad a made this purchase.
