This is a great monopod head, much sturdier than a ball head. I was considering buying this or the L-20S reversible tilt and I'm glad I went with the L-10. One tilt axis is enough for a monopod, so I saved weight. For use on my camera body I had to move the plate from side to side in a front to back direction. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the brand clip. The rest of my gear uses Arca Swiss compatible plates with two small adjustable pins to keep the lens or camera from slipping out. Sirui uses its own clip-on button system. This works great but you have to use their disk. Okay, as long as all the clamps on your other gear are Shirui too, but not mine. So when I use the Sirui disk I lose the security function. My standard 60mm plate on my camera body doesn't allow for a secure clamp connection - there isn't enough room for the security pins. I tried removing the clamp to use my own but couldn't loosen the screw. I actually ripped off the Allen key socket. It's well anchored! I have ordered a 70mm plate (with 2 security pins) and am hoping it will provide enough clearance to fit securely in the Sirui clamp. If not, I might try drilling out the bolt that holds the clip to my head so I can standardize my gear on a security system. That's a shame, because the fine workmanship of the clamp and plate certainly accounts for a decent percentage of the head's cost. Also, the clamp and head are heavier than others I've used.
