The tips aren't really Apple Pencil tips but otherwise a very good alternative

Very good pencil and reliable cheap alternative to the ridiculous Apple version (Apple has features I don't need) . I don't want to use Bluetooth technology, which I want to avoid). However, I chose this one because both the product description and the seller's Q&A convinced me that the tips/nibs are the same as the Apple Pencil. It is not true. The Apple Pencil (both Gen 1 and Gen 2) has hidden threads located inside the nib barrel that screws into the pencil's body, while the latter has visible threads on the outside. That means you can't buy replacement tips anywhere. It also works very well on the iPad Pro 12.9 (2020 4th Gen) with the Targus VersaView Classic Folio. Here are some pros and cons: Pros: 1) Comes with 1 spare tip (but see below). 2) The back end of the pencil works like your finger even when the pencil is off (but see below). 3) Excellent standby time, the charge lasts several weeks with infrequent use (but see below). 4) Sticks magnetically to the iPad Pro 12.9 on the side even through a case (but see below). 5) Bluetooth is not used (requires no pairing, poses no security risk, and does not transmit/receive strong radiation, if present). 6) The price is very cheap (1/4 the price of an Apple Pencil). Cons: 1) Apple Pencil replacement nibs don't fit AND additional replacement nibs aren't available from seller [EDIT: Replacement nibs are now available] 2) The back end is very stiff, which allows it to be used like a finger (which works most of the time) makes it a lot of noise, moreover it is not as reliable as it should be. You should add a capacitive mesh cover on the back to improve this functionality and add it to the product description. 3) It automatically turns off after 30 minutes even if you use it (because it doesn't have a sensor to detect usage and just relies on a timer), which is annoying. 4) The magnets are incorrectly positioned in the stylus (at least on the iPad Pro 12.9 Gen 4) meaning the stylus is not centered on the side of the iPad and falls off more easily than it should, especially with a case for it centered.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
