Like others I got them to install a makeshift air cleaner to remove smoke particles. Finally, this 20 x 20 x 1 inch (technically 19.75 x 19.75 x 0.75 inch) filter fits great and works well*. I don't see this as a problem for (semi-)normal use cases. TIP - Be careful when cutting the product packaging! This is very space and material efficient so the filters are DIRECTLY under the band. If you cut too deep, you cut the filter. It would be nice if there was something like a sheet of cardboard on the box, or at least a warning label on the box. A wedge with 2 filters or a cube with 3-4 filters would be more ideal.
