I bought this printer to print high quality photos, period. So the first printer arrived with a bad black inkjet printer. I had to go through the return process but it was reasonable/easy. But when I got the second printer, I noticed that the print quality wasn't that great. The Epson printer driver has the following print quality options: Draft, Standard, Fine, and Best (and Best is only allowed for plain paper, not photo paper). In Photoshop I could see that Draft = 180 dpi, Standard = 360 dpi and High and Best = 720 dpi. Considering that I had seen several reviews online stating that the maximum print quality was 5700 x 1400 dpi (one of the main reasons I bought this printer), I figured I had to do something - I didn't . However, Epson Level 2 Support CONFIRMS that the Epson driver limits the print quality to a maximum resolution of 720 dpi! I got the best photo quality from Walgreens down the street (because I was comparing the same picture)! The photos this printer prints are likely to be good for everyday use (although you'll have to factor in the cost given the expensive ink). but this is NOT the super high-resolution photo printer I had in mind.
