Sirdar and Hayfield were the best yarns when I first started using them many years ago. The Hayfield yarn I used is no longer available so I was glad to know I can still get Sirdar. Not only that, I was able to save the remaining creamy sirdar yarn I had on hand. This yarn makes the softest baby blankets, shawls, etc. I've ever made. They can be machine washed and dried. The yarn doesn't tear or rub your hands, it's the lightest yarn I've ever worked with. There are now many other yarns and blends that are soft and easy to work with, but everything I have seen is 2-3 times the price of this yarn. If you want a more exotic blend of yarns, go for it. If you are looking for high quality, strong and soft yarn, Sirdar is the yarn for you!
