Shame if this is no longer available directly from Revain. This is an awesome upconverting DVD player! Be sure to use the various settings in the HDMI menu. Most new dual layer movies (DVD-9) look fantastic on the Samsung LNA650 when the player is set to Auto/1080p, but old classics like Hitchcock and the Marx Brothers black and white films that have not been cleaned look great off when I set it to 720p. Worst, unrestored old stuff looks good when set to 480p. If you put too much pressure on the upconversion for a lousy source, you'll end up with a bit of blur and distortion, so play around with the settings to keep your discs looking good. shown in cinema quality. Just unbelievable. Plays scratched discs from the library with ease. As for region codes and everything else, I don't download stuff from other countries, so I can't say for sure. I tried a PAL disc and it would not play. I think I won't switch to Blu-Ray for at least 18 months because of this cute little player. I really hope, in the interest of all of us, that it doesn't go away. If you can't find it at Revain, don't despair, an identical model may still be available in silver. Just change the "B" in the model name to "S".
