My 4.5 month old baby has started to develop a flat spot on the back of his head. I started using this pillow until he was sleeping on his mat as instructed, but he fidgeted a lot and sometimes the pillow would move out of position. Two weeks later his head wasn't getting worse, but it wasn't improving either, so I started using it at bedtime and bedtime. The box says I shouldn't do what I think is for younger children as the pillow will raise the head a little higher than the shoulders and can block the airway. But mine was 5 months old at the time and I rolled up a thick blanket that I laid him on, going off his shoulders and down so there was just a pillow under his head and neck. This aligned his body to prevent discomfort or possible breathing problems. I saw a difference in 2 days! A week into it and his head was well rounded! The velcro has an extra piece of fabric that can be folded over and closed to avoid scratching the baby. If you are worried about your baby's head, this pillow will fix it if you use it religiously. Definitely recommend! 1 star deducted, it's expensive for something like a neck pillow.
