My wife ordered these for me because I had appendectomy and needed to remove my current jewelry and I thought I had lost it. The title says hypoallergenic surgical steel is nickel free, but I wouldn't agree with that. I'm allergic to cheap metals (don't know if it's nickel or what, to be honest) when I get a horrible rash or in the case of jewelry they basically get infected. I like to joke that you can't save on jewelry with me because I learn everything very quickly. My belly piercing is over 10 years old and I've never had a problem with surgical steel. My piercing is now all red, sore, and bleeding, which is a classic sign of my reaction to fake metal. Luckily I found jewelry in there that I had before the surgery so I went back to them and now I clean them regularly and stuff. To sum up, buyers beware if you have allergies/sensitivities like I do.
