Review on πŸ“· MAGICRIG A7SIII Camera Cage with NATO Handle: Perfect Fit for Sony Alpha 7S III / A7SIII by Justin Sharp

Big budget cage and top grip option for A7iii and A7siii

I am a big fan of other brand cages and accessories for my Sony cameras which are arguably the standard for consumer and professional rig accessories, but when I stumble upon this cage and a pen I was surprised by the price and thought I'd give it a try. MagicRig also offers a top grip for the price of another manufacturer's cage. Fit and Finish Overall the fit and finish of this set is really good. It's hard to say if it compares to any other manufacturer as everything is painted but looks and feels very good. I also have a top grip from another manufacturer and as you can see from the photos the two grips are very similar. The MagicRig grip looks a bit thicker in all directions and is a mirror copy of another manufacturer's grip, most likely on purpose to avoid direct copy issues. The MagicRig's black finish is also slightly different; It has more texture while the other manufacturer's finish is ultra smooth. Whilst not advertised for the A7iii I can confirm that it will fit both the A7iii and A7siii, however the lanyard grommets on the A7iii do not match the hole on the right side of the cage and therefore cannot be screwed on Cage. All other doors, including the A7iii's battery door, work without issue. Overall this is a good product and a great alternative to more expensive brands. Time will tell how well the fairing and aluminum hold up, but for now I can give it a full score. I will update my review if anything changes in the future.
