It's free software with an open source license. I don't have any dislikes so far. If you want to use your own codecs then it might not be available out of the box but there are tutorials online for almost all popular formats. You can save files in different formats including mp3/mp4. This really helps when working as part of a team where we need the same file format or resolution etc. I like how easy it is to use and customize. It's not difficult to learn but there are many options for customization. It can be slow at times, especially with large files. I have used this software for years and it never disappoints me. The customer support is also top notch. It's a great tool if you need to convert between different formats or do any editing of video. I use it for video conversion from one format to another. It has been very reliable every time.
