Pole bends too much at fixing points

I bought this to hang patio lights. I don't think I got to the description but this 10ft rod is made up of 2ft sections that need to be screwed together. When it was assembled and the weight of the lanterns were on it, the attachment point at the bottom sagged quite a bit, as did the rest of the pole. Check out the attached photos to get an idea of how this bar flexes. I understand it should flex, but not that much. Product images make it appear more durable than it actually is. I do not recommend.
