I curled my lashes first, which always helps mascara work better. I applied mascara to my upper lashes first and was amazed at how the brush neatly separated, lengthened and thickened my lashes. There was no excess mascara on the lashes or on the bottle or on the brush. Best of all, it seriously rocked my lashes with a high, sheer lash separation. Then I dipped the brush and reapplied mascara to the other side of my lashes and couldn't believe this amazing formula made my lashes look like synthetic. It thickens, separates and lengthens my lashes. FLASHES FLASHES Seriously. In fact, it performed better than any other high-end mascara I've used! I also added some lashes but to be honest they weren't necessary. I love the angled brush for tiny areas and hard-to-reach areas on the lower lashes. I have used L'Oréal mascara and have never been disappointed. I mean, HEY, Lancome is their parent company. I guess. Highly recommended.
