Bought this refurbished Airport Express to extend my garage wifi network. Although this technology is about ten years old, it meets my needs, my service is 400/20 and my main base station at the airport (Time Machine) is more than adequate. I ran a cable from the garage through the attic to the base station, turned on the power. , and configured via Airport Utility, done! I now have reliable WiFi when I work out and Tesla can download its updates quickly. Two Pro Tips: If you are purchasing this Express to increase your network range, please consider selecting the "Create a new network" option during setup. Airport Utility recommends that you select "Extend the network (recommended)" by default, but this is typically not optimal and can actually slow down your Wi-Fi network due to the increased headroom. But when you select 'Create New Network' you are actually creating a new hotspot in that area of the house, but are actually in bridge mode, transferring data to/from the base station over ethernet. Tip #2: Look at the plastic. Mounting brackets are available for the Express, allowing you to mount this unit high on the wall for better Wi-Fi coverage. Hooray!
