Review on πŸ“Ά Enhance Your Network with the Netgear ME102 802.11b Wireless Access Point by Michael Skerving

good product bad standard

I think it must be an 802.11 bug that these things have such poor range. My dumb 900mhz cordless phone is reaching my neighbor's house, but this thing won't go from the office to the living room (I could probably route infrared from the office to the living room) without dropping 74% signal strength. However, it was easy to set up even though it didn't have DHCP capability so I had to set an IP address and it would have been better if they let me set it up over the network rather than the USB cable that came with it. on a tall bookshelf at the end of a 50-foot network cable (to maintain range). However, this suggests that this is a fairly reliable device and works fine within the standard.
