Absolutely stunning piece of precious metal

This is truly one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I have ever seen. I have bought a few pieces from Reed & Barton in the past but have not bought any in sterling silver. When I opened the box (a very nice gift box) I actually said "Wow" because it almost looked like a piece of jewelry worth the proverbial arm and leg of how it was supposed to look. at least for me. It was a showcase of the whole Christmas tree, and I showed it to visitors ad nauseam (if you're going to spend that kind of money on a decoration, I think it should be required). However, there was talk of the tree and the season when it came to decorations. It is exceptionally well made with no flaws that I could notice or see, it has held up well to the wood and is actually a pretty good 'piece' of sterling silver. If you absolutely must sell it at the spot price, you can (but I wouldn't recommend it). What I found interesting was that towards the end of the season it faded a bit. I live in a very humid and temperate part of the south so I wasn't surprised. In fact, the tarnishing just reminded me that this is a quality piece of silver and it seemed to set it up for the upcoming Christmas season for many, many years. Pros: BEAUTIFUL. Great quality sterling silver Good way to start an annual collection (but expensive) Should last for many generations and can/will be passed down Amazing presentation/storage box Cons: NOT cheap (literally) Tarnish (all sterling) If you love the season or just love decorations. Or maybe you want to give someone a very thoughtful gift that will last for generations, that could be a good option. It is superbly finished, looks great, comes in a beautiful presentation box and will be passed down from generation to generation for years to come.
