I wouldn't say I take good care of my Forerunner 235. I wear it day and night, hiking, kayaking and just generally enjoying life. I put one of these protective glasses on my watch when I first got it and you couldn't even tell it was there. He looked the same. Then, about three months later, I found myself in a slot canyon and caught a backpack being thrown down on me. I hit the rock next to me with the watch pretty hard and small cracks appeared on the edge of the tread. When I got home I was happy that there wasn't a single scratch on the glass after I removed the torn protective film. Would the dial be as well preserved without the tread? Who knows? I won't find out so I bought another one to replace the cracked one. They easily go on without bubbles, although you have to take them slowly and carefully to center them on the watch. A firm and patient hand is required.
