Review on Packer by Mike Davan

I like how easy it was to set up, and that there are so many options you can use to create your own unique image! There's not much I dislike about this program at all. It does exactly what I want it do - packer makes it very simple to build exact copies of my base AMI each time. The only thing I wish was more obvious were the logs / output files, but they're in the same folder as the.pack file. So just be sure to know where those go before you run things. This has saved me SO MUCH TIME when building our development environments. We used to have multiple people manually building their environment every day (or weekly). Now we literally make one change to one line of code and get back 100% working instances of AWS EC2s or VMs with no manual intervention required.
