Hello. These ottoman covers are very durable and made from very thick cotton (like a thick sail on a sailing boat). Two rows of fringes were too much for me, so I carefully ripped open the seams and removed them. I'm still debating whether to keep the tassels or remove them. You will also notice that my stools are firm. I bought a 5 inch Styrofoam crib mattress and used my Hamilton Standard Electric Meat Slicer to cut the Styrofoam into 14.5 inch squares. The 3 squares on the ottoman made it more formal than the product photo and comfortable to put feet on. The foam also makes them light and easy to throw, compared to stuffing them with blankets or towels and the like. Highly recommended.
