I didn³'t expect the quality to be this good.

I am an experienced canonist, I shoot at 5dm3 and 5dm2 both video and photo. I love and respect Canon, it is the market leader, but I don’t like sensors with weak DD, few megapixels, and in general it’s disgusting to shoot on a mirror with manual lenses. For a long time I looked closely at Sony's BZK (Sony has no alternative - I don't shoot for crops). Previous models did not suit me for a number of reasons. This model has everything: sensitivity, 43mp, gorgeous colors, gorgeous EVI, and awesome video quality with AF! Canon has always annoyed me with the fact that AF was not put in the tops in the video (and the new 5dsr is no exception). Competitors? They are not here. According to tests, a7rII is slightly better than 5dsr in terms of sharpness, and is much ahead in sensitivity. The choice was obvious. Canon failed to sell me a 5dsr camera in a 5dm3 case for $4K haha. To be honest, I wouldn't buy a 5dsr even for $2.5K. The only negative in comparison with DSLRs is the speed of AF. Despite impressive progress over the previous generation, AF has not reached the level of top-end DSLRs. I rarely shoot sports, I'm better suited for shooting everything else. As a second camera to a pro DSLR, the a7rII is perfect. You get used to 43mp very quickly, 23mp starts to be missed from 5dm3.
I was afraid for the colors (suddenly just as ugly as on Nikon), but Sony exceeded all my expectations - the color is deeper and more natural than on Canon.
And most importantly, this wonderful camera does all the cameras on the market in terms of video quality, and half of the camcorders cost 4 times higher.
I leave 5dm3 as the main working machine, but my favorite camera is now Sony a7rII. Sonya shoots better with Canon lenses than Canon (not more convenient, but better in terms of results). Lake fans write that Sonya shoots better with Leica lenses than the Leica M 240.
The price tag is adequate, you pay for top technologies that work.

Pros

- the best 35mm sensor on the market - sensitivity (it's amazing) - no anti-moire filter on the sensor, which means razor sharpness - colors are natural and pleasant - 43 megapixels - the best EVI on the market - swivel display - dimensions - the weight - accurate AF - Shutter vibration reduced compared to previous models - quiet mode - Eye AF (works great, no more defective portraits) - Multi-zone AF (399 focal points and 25 contrast focus points) - AF does not need to be adjusted, unlike DSLRs due to a different technology - working with manual lenses is more convenient and pleasant than on DSLRs (zooming directly in the EVI, focus peaking) - EVI (you see exactly what you get in the viewfinder, unlike a pentaprism) - magnesium alloy body - metal mount (unlike its predecessors) - 5-axis stabilization in the carcass - stabilization in the carcass works even with ancient glasses like Helios: just indicate the focal point in the menu and that's it - excellent native optics, primarily primes (Zeiss Batis; Zeiss 55mm 1.8; Zeiss 35 1.4; Sony Macro 90mm 2.8) - short working distance - through adapters you can hook everything that is not available on the mirror: Leica, M39, Canon FD, Canon FL, Canon R and others glasses (you can also safely install Canon EF-S), not to mention modern Canon and Nikon glasses - autofocus in video! (full automatic with native glasses, by half-pressing with canon ones through Metabons IV) - the ability to get AF with Canon L-lenses through Metabones IV - video quality (better than 5dm3, Canon Cinema, Sony FS 100, FS 700) - writes 4K video directly to SD card (unlike a7s) - in Super35 mode, video without pixel-binning, cinematic quality without any discounts (Canons have a rest) - WiFi (Jpeg directly to an iPhone without a computer) - customizable custom buttons - Comes with two batteries and a charger

Cons

- AF is slower than 5dm3, you can forget about shooting sports - battery (total 320 frames in RAW) - only SD (I love CF and trust SD less) - sharp and uncomfortable rubber pad on the viewfinder (compared to 5dm3) - general ergonomics is much inferior to 5dm3, precisely because the camera is small - the grip is worse than 5dm3, since the little finger falls through and the load passes to the other three fingers - Sony's ARW ravines have a built-in jpeg to view only 1616 x 1080, which is inconvenient when previewing on a computer with viewer programs like Faststone, you cannot quickly assess the quality of a photo during preview - the camera thinks for a long time after shooting, you can’t immediately see the captured frame on 5dm3, there is a delay (I think the reason is 43mp and SD) - a smaller fleet of native optics in general (in comparison with the market leader Canon) - Sony FE zooms are dark (f / 4), Canon accustomed to f / 2.8 L-cams - a shameful strap in the kit (much worse than the native Canon one, for example), I bought a narrow Japanese ProTAMA leather strap - it looks great.
