I thought the light wouldn't work after charging but then I remembered to check that there was a protective film between the battery and the flashlight. I removed it and it works great. This is very useful for cleaning; However, I soon found that many substances "glow" which is not a problem: sealant, soap, essential oil, etc. We've used it recently to easily find nail holes in the walls we've patched. As such, light can be very useful for determining reflectance variations on surfaces.
