This holder is for the Samsung Galaxy S4 in my 2008 Toyota Tacoma pickup. The dash tilts quickly, has a large center console, and I have very specific preferences for where my phone sits when it's installed. I want it under the bottom of the windshield and almost behind the steering wheel. I just don't want it to be on top of the dash where it can get in the way of the road but still look good. Hence my desire for a VERY flexible mount. This device with the declared long sleeve (almost 10-12 inches) and strong suction is fully consistent with the description. Imagine my pickup truck bouncing a lot on the road. suction? Hold on, never fall. . I managed to bend it 45° right out of the suction cup. Then a slight slope along the contour of the dashboard. Then another 45° bend, this time to place the phone just forward of the front edge of the dash above the radio. Finally, turn left toward the steering column to place the phone centered on the front edge of the dash and JUST slightly behind the wheel at the 3 o'clock position. I've put it on and taken it off (6-8 times?) The wand itself, as I said, was VERY flexible, but also stiff enough to hold its shape tightly after all those flexing one way or the other until I got it Last but not least, the phone holder component is also above average: she easily grabs the phone by simply pressing the button on the back of the holder to open the left and right grips with rubber grips. Slide the bottom two tabs to rest your phone on top OR leave them closed so larger phones are lower and out of view. I turn two legs out and the phone lies perfectly. I use a firm grip with one hand to bring the left and right soft rubber tabs into contact with the phone and give the phone a final squeeze when it's secure. As if it is held firmly in the hand and rests directly on the face. As I said, I ride on paved and muddy bumpy roads and it never bounces. The size and spacing of the bottom feet and the side rubber grips allow very easy access to my phone's bottom charging port, and the sides give me clear access to the volume control on the left, the power button on the right and finally the aux/headphone poet on the top. To release the grip, simply place a finger on the button on the back of the holder, squeeze lightly, and the phone's grips open wide but still rest on your feet until you simply lift it. 1. I would buy it again if mine wore out.2. I would recommend it to friends and family.3. On my first session, I WAS WAY EXTREME, as I was pointing straight down from the windshield straight at my face on the first extreme 90° turn, I pulled the flex arm right out of the base. NO manufacturing defect. No, it was my mental and physical defect. But I called Macally anyway and they arranged for a quick replacement. Therefore 5 stars. HAPPY CAR.
