First off, let me say that the Nocona Belt Co. Nocona Pro Basket Star Over Rodeo, Tan, One Size Men's Belt (hereafter referred to as the "Basket Star Belt”) is a beautifully crafted accessory that exudes raw western charm. Tan leather has a warm distressed quality that pairs equally well with blue jeans or dress pants, while the intricate basketwork pattern of silver studs and stars is eye-catching without being overly flashy. However, I have mixed feelings about the Basket Star belt and why I only gave it three stars out of five. Firstly the sizing is a bit off - I ordered the 'one size' option as I usually have a 32-34 waist but found the belt too loose even in the tightest hole. This may be due to the width of the strap (1.5 inches) which is wider than most of my other straps and may require a tighter fit. However, it's worth noting that you may need to order one size smaller than you normally wear, or be prepared to add extra holes. Second, while I appreciate the attention to detail in the design, I found the basket weave pattern resulted in a fairly stiff and inflexible belt. It was difficult to adjust the fit without undoing the buckle and starting over, and much of the strap made it less comfortable than I would have liked. This might be a matter of personal preference - I prefer thinner and more flexible straps - but it's worth considering if you want more flexibility with your accessories. Overall, the Basket Star Belt is a beautiful and well-made addition to any cowboy or cowgirl's wardrobe. However, size and stiffness can be the deciding factor for some, so try before you buy if possible. I'll give it three out of five stars for its style but subtract points for practicality. Hooray!
