At work I go to meetings most of the day and I like to write down conversations to take notes. I use this tool to record 3-4 hours every day and rely on it in my work. (Actually one of my main recorders) Pros: - I like that it's high quality and not cheap. At the time of writing this review I've had it for a month. It works reliably with no errors or problems. - It's discreet, it looks just like a flash drive, it's the same size as a flash drive - it's easy to use, no training required. Just turn on to record, turn off to stop (although it would be nice to know how much battery is left, maybe it can show that on your computer when plugged in?) - It automatically names each wav file by date and time . - big! Big fan of this feature. minuses. As mentioned, there's no way to tell how much battery is left, so make sure it's constantly charged to be safe (not a big deal yet, though). - The file size saved is enormous! I don't understand why it's recorded in 16bit WAV but takes up so much space? Half an hour recording over 100 MB (!). Other recorders I use pick up some of that. For some reason the lower and upper bounds of the audio are very tight so it clips very easily (see attached image). This means you don't have to be very loud to start clipping and then the recording will sound terrible. I've learned to mount this recorder at the other end of a table or even across the room so it doesn't go overboard and start clipping, then I can really hear what people are saying, not muffled, fuzzy bursts of audio. .Overall it's a decent solid tool if you can learn to bypass clipping. I would happily change my rating to four or five stars if they fixed it.
