Nice design. A soft plastic/rubber material that has to endure whatever is in there in a recording studio without a mosh pit. They'll pretty much outlive you, so make sure you have them in your will. I can say that my bass got MUCH better as soon as I put in my reference CD. I've been fortunate enough to use Rush, Roll the Bones - the sound quality makes it easy to "tune" the speakers to my ear (make sure you find a song to listen to every time YOU tune in put on your new monitors! ), in my opinion. LOTS more Getty in each song which is nice. That being said, it's hard to imagine why it was so much money for what it is, but it ends up being one of the cheapest monitor stands I've found. I believe most of Mfr's cost is related to shipping from China to USA. In the end - YES, would recommend to my best friends.
