Good with headset limitations

I've used both the standard Quest 2 harness and the Elite harness. It's somewhere between the two. For me, the standard tape is terrible. It creates tremendous pressure on the face and leads to profuse sweating. The Elite harness is a big improvement. Unfortunately I cracked after about 10 hours of use and sent it back for an RMA exchange. I waited two months for them to send me a replacement. Even after numerous emails. So I was very excited about the Dethinton strap. Size: Dethinton is an Elite-like strap that actually fits into cases designed to fit Regular and Elite straps. I have two cases that I bought specifically because they fit the Elite and Elite with battery. This strap fits easily in these suitcases. Packaging: The Dethinton strap comes in a beautiful case with Quest-inspired graphics. The case is generic, without the Dethinton name. We will most likely see many well-known brands using the same design in the same packaging. Strap: The build quality is very good and suits the Quest 2 perfectly. The strap part feels a bit thicker than the Elite strap, so it's probably less prone to breakage. The sides of the behind-the-ear straps stick out about 1 inch on either side of my skull. Significantly more clearance than the Elite harness, but likely fewer stress points that cause the Elite harness to snap so easily. It's a little less aesthetic but highly lining: the back lining is removable and securely fastened with Velcro. I don't see them appear regularly. The top strap is high quality and sweatproof on the side that touches the scalp. The temple fasteners that attach to the Quest 2 are solid. Attaching to the Quest 2 requires significantly more force than the Elite or Standard straps. a toy-like noise when you turn the screw on the back to decrease the circumference of the band. The sound is very "plastic toy gun" and does not inspire confidence in the long run. Aside from the sound, however, the adjustment is very reliable (and perhaps a sign of more powerful and durable mechanics). Overall this is a great strap. The only downsides are the difficulty of attaching the strap to the Quest 2 (not a problem as long as you don't remove it) and the whistling sound of the wheel on the back of the strap. Already feeling like an idiot for purchasing the official Quest 2 Elite harness. I paid 2x more and it was in the hands of Oculus MUCH LONGER than it was in my hands. Save yourself the pain and just buy this one instead.

Pros
  • Comfortable and durable
Cons
  • Big and chunky
