I bought two - one for salt, one for pepper. I washed before use and suggest you loosen the grind so you can shake out all the water and let it dry completely before filling! With coarse sea salt and black peppercorns, coffee grinders will do whatever you want! Settings are easy. The top caps are easy to remove and easy to put on. These are my first coffee grinders outside of single-use plastic stores, and now I realize what I've been missing. Precise grinding, easier grinding, and it's cheaper to buy salt and pepper in bulk and refill again! A win!
