Good LED bulb but poor battery case design

First let me address the elephant in the room about the battery not fitting properly. I faced the same problem. After inserting the battery and believing it was inserted correctly, it immediately fell out. I later realized that I had to press the battery pack firmly against the contacts. The battery makes no clicks or clicks that would provide tactile feedback that the battery is properly installed. You need to insert the battery and then press firmly against the other side. This combined with the fact that the back is completely open makes this case a very poor design. However, I did find that the battery fitted firmly after the first try and slides in easily and stays in the holder. That being said I found this LED panel to be very close to what is advertised. It comes with a charger and the lamp also has LEDs for battery indication. I liked the following things about this product1. The body of the LED lamp is not thin. It's firm but not very stiff. You don't have to worry about the suitcase being crushed in your bag, but it won't carry too much weight, so don't plan on sitting on it (unless you're a cat)2. The gel color filters are thicker than I previously thought. They are strong enough and not easy to bend.3. The bracket has a standard ball head, so you can rotate and tilt the lamp in other directions for indirect lighting. The mounting bracket attaches to a standard hot shoe found on most (D)SLRs. If you don't have such a camera, adapters for it are also available, which you need to buy separately.4. The lamp also has a brightness control. I was quite satisfied with the maximum brightness of the lamp.5. The mounting brackets have rotary screws that allow you to tighten the ball head in place while another tightens the bracket in the hot shoe. Things to Consider Before Buying 1. The open back of the battery compartment can be distracting. You might want to put some sort of (cloth) cover on the back so that if the battery falls out for whatever reason, it doesn't bang against something. 2. The mounting bracket (which connects the camera to the LED lamp) mounts on a standard hot shoe. I have a Canon camera and it attaches well to it. I assume it will also be attached to Nikon cameras. However, there are some cameras that use proprietary or other shoe mounts. You may need to purchase separate adapters for these.3. This LED lamp does not work as a flashlight. This LED bulb needs to be turned on manually and will stay on until you turn it off. Although I like this feature because I can see the object being highlighted.
