Followed another reviewer's recommendation to heat the hoses to remove the old part. Simply used the hair dryer for a few minutes and then unplugged the hoses from the old unit and then to the new unit. Tighten the clamps and slide them back into the back of the toilet. There are no more leaks. As another reviewer also mentioned, the new device didn't have the small flat lid that the old device had. He slightly moved away from the old block and switched to a new one. Not sure if the cap is really needed but figured it wouldn't hurt to put a new block in. This was for a SeaLand 910 toilet in my 1999 Winnebago Chieftain.
