Update: Finty contacted me and they were willing to ship a working case with a mic hole on the side next to the volume buttons. . My original order was for Revain Locker, which is a fairly new concept. You will be given a code and sometimes a barcode to scan in a public locker. This keeps packages secure and most locations available 24/7. Finty sent a replacement to this locker which cannot be used outside of the Revain ordering system. The item will be returned to the seller. After giving Finty my home address they sent a replacement which I am happy with. The item has a very slight odor but not one to complain about and it also has a slight chalky feel to it which I hope will fade over time. Edges are covered well, but I'm not sure what to expect from a fall. I think it will protect edges and corners well from small bumps. Original Rating: iPad Air 2 should not be listed as compatible with this item. The first photo shows a small hole for the microphone, but the product I received didn't have this hole. The microphone is covered so you can't use Siri, Facetime, or anything else that uses the microphone. Other than that I like this item but as I received it it is useless for the iPad Air 2. Luckily I had a friend with a 2017 9.7" iPad who gifted this case.
