My Abby wobbles and bends to the point where the clip rotates with the metal that is supposed to hold it together. . The first time I thought I had attached it to the name tag but it didn't stretch and the second time I found it outside my house on the street staring at me. The third time, my husband said she was just sitting next to her sister and waiting. So we had to remove the old collar. Her sister didn't break free and didn't try. So yes I would recommend that but the metal hole needs to be bigger for quirky dogs.
