I bought a Nesco 1.5 qt. A slow cooker suggested by a friend when I complained that my slow cooker was too big for one person and heavy as hell. I LOVE this CP. Ideal for 1 or 2 people, 2 to 4 servings. It definitely won't break the bank, it cleans up well, it's beautiful and it doesn't take up much counter space at all. In fact, it's the only thing on my countertop in my small kitchen and it's found HOME. It has warm, low and high settings. It has no timer or reset for heating. Don't worry about that! The lid rests on the stove, so don't expect a tight fit, and it's vented. BIG purchase for me. No more closed meals in the fridge after freezing portions. I no longer wonder what this food was USED for, better yet I buy the right amount of food for myself and save money on that bill and also cut my electricity bill. 4 days in a row I used this 1.5 qt. gem. Food for dinner, leftovers for tomorrow and two more in the freezer. Two "cons". First, Nesco does not provide a cookbook for beginners. If you're used to a big pot, it's a bit difficult to reduce. BUT, just go to your favorite culinary attractions, include meals for 1 or 2 people or 2-4 servings. You may have to scroll a bit, but you'll find recipes that tell you how, as well as the right temperature and time for this little slow cooker. There is a cooking website that has an online tool for reducing portions. This was my GO TO and I was able to print LOTS of great recipes for this cooker. 2. Minus: DO NOT take a nap while preparing food for 2-3 hours. While cooking, wonderful smells WILL wake you up. You have time before he is ready to enjoy. Last note. After 4 days of slow cooking and freezing, I found my stovetop was getting a little warm. Check your food. If it says simmer for 8 hours, be mindful of the weight and size of the food and do your best. Some things cook faster than others. BUY it people who live alone or together and the children left the nest. But if you jump in, you have a lot. If two children come, you will have nothing. I have closets full of pots and pans. I haven't opened any of them since I got the Nesco 1.5 qt. multi stove. I am sure that NEW will be deleted but USE will not. Enjoy!
