How did I get the feeling that this camera wasn't very good? I took part in a photography project alongside another photographer who possessed this particular camera with 55mm f/1.8 optics, and we worked together on the project. What stood out to me was: 1. This toy only focuses every so often in a room that is not particularly dim because there is not enough light. The cropped sensor on my DSLR did not even register the possibility that there was insufficient light. 2 - The AF assist light that is supposed to come from the external flash does not work on this toy! Given all of these issues in a room that does not have a lot of natural light, it would not be superfluous. 3 - This plaything is incapable of shooting at an ISO higher than 800 (and this is FF!). The owner of the item expressed extreme shock upon viewing the photographs that I had taken with my cropped DSLR at ISO 3200-6400. 4 - The photographer purchased this lens (55-1.8) for sixty thousand yen, which is an absurdly high price for such a plaything. When compared to canon's price of fifty kopecks, Nikon's price of ten thousand is significantly more. Folks, in all candor, I simply not comprehend individuals who choose to take it. Is it truly that difficult to hold a DSLR camera? At the same time, the functionality and capabilities of my crop are one level higher. For that kind of money, you can generally take a simple full-frame reflex camera, which will generally tear this toy. My crop is one and a half times less expensive.
