Works great. - Buffing and Buffing Pads

I used an orange pad on my Porter 7424 cable and a 6 inch base plate that I bought from Revain. I leveled and buffed my 2019 Raptor top to bottom and front to back and the orange pad worked flawlessly. After that I hand washed it and let it dry next time. She's still in great shape. A few tips: Do not use dry. Have a spray bottle of filtered water handy. and when the work area is dry, just spray a little. Use it at low speed and don't press hard. Let the machine do the work. develop patience. Wash and dry your car with any soap you like, leaving about a dozen microfiber rags on it at a time. When you start, dampen the pad with some water, put a few dabs of any cleaning product on the pad, smear it on your workbench, and run buffers while sitting in a car. Use slow speed and take your time. Do not lift or operate the buffer while it is in use when it is not on the work surface. You never want your pad to "spin freely" or the product you throw at will can blow the pad apart. You want the metal on your car to be warm but not hot. If it's hot, work in very small areas and keep spraying water so you don't burn the carpet. I use a leveling compound called "Smooth Cut" that I bought years ago - not sure if they still make it - on the black Shelby I had. and displayed from time to time. I apply about 4 dabs of leveling compound and a few dabs of a good cleaning wax to the same pad at the same time, smear it around my work area and start buffing. When it dries, I remove the residue by hand with a microfiber. I get a long lasting, buttery smooth, high gloss finish that lasts for a while and looks amazing. Also, any swirls and pinholes (if not too deep) just disappear. As I love to race my gray Raptor in the desert, polishing is a must and the orange bodywork with what I described brought it back to factory paint within reasonable limits.
