This turned out to be a good purchase, but in severe frosts you need a heavier mitten. They are good for leisurely days of skiing. I bought these for my 14 year old daughter. Without hand warmers she would have been cold when the temperature in the mountains dropped to 20 degrees. Inside are thin finger separators that may not hold up over time, we'll see. The top zip makes it easy to use your fingers without removing your mittens. It also allows you to put a hand warmer inside. For the price they were worth average weight mittens. If you end up in a ton of powder and/or deep powder, I would go for a heavier glove.
