The fact that it's thick is a double-edged sword. It's great that it keeps hair from penetrating to the sofa or bedspread, and it's not easily 'pulled' by a cat's claw. It's also highly durable and plenty big enough for a California king bed or a standard sofa, with plenty of room to drape on the sides and behind. But because the fabric is so thick, my dryer won't handle it. It would take HOURS to dry it, and while it's still wet and heavy, the dryer kept shutting off. I have a brand new Samsung dryer with a pretty large drum, but I just can't dry it. So, we have to take this blanket to a laundry mat once a month and have it washed and dried in their commercial dryers. Just be aware of this one inconvenient drawback. Otherwise, it's a wonderful product. I have the brown and I have the green (which is blue on the other side).
